1000+ Five-Star Reviews

Sydney families rate us five stars, and this suburb is part of that record.

Why Drains Block in Pymble

The railway put this suburb on the map in the 1890s, and the building boom that followed is still standing.

Big Federation houses on Telegraph Road and Avon Road, most on generous blocks with a century of established planting.

A good chunk of that planting is remnant bushland, part of what's left of the old Blue Gum High Forest that once ran the length of the ridge.

Grand old houses, huge old trees. It's a great combination for a street, and a hard one for a drain.

Underneath, the pipework is clay and earthenware from a build era that predates any of this canopy growth.

Every joint is a target. Once a root finds one, a slow trickle turns into a full stoppage within weeks, not years.

The girls' college on Avon Road and the shops near the station sit right in the thick of it, big trees either side of the footpath and the pipes underneath.

Robert Pymble Park and the Bannockburn Road grounds tell the same story, leafy and lovely above ground, root-choked below it.

We don't turn up guessing. Knowing the era tells us the pipe material before we've even opened the van, and a CCTV drain camera confirms it on the spot.

Camera first, then the clear, then a repair quote if one's needed, no digging blind.

Blocked drain repair and CCTV drain inspection cover most of what these older blocks throw at us.

Services That Fit Pymble's Drains

The mix of heritage homes and newer units near the station means we bring a full kit, not a one-size job.

We carry the same gear for a heritage terrace on Telegraph Road as we do for a newer strata block by the station, because the fix has to suit the property, not the other way round.

That means a compact eel for a tight period bathroom trap, or a full hydro-jet run for a long root-choked stormwater line, whatever the job actually needs.

Drain Problems We See Around Pymble

The same old pipe stock feeds two other recurring problems.

Clay pipe drainage. The reactive shale clay soil shifts with the seasons, and it takes brittle old pipes with it.

Stormwater overload. Nowhere else in Sydney gets more rain than here, close to 1,441mm a year on average.

Older stormwater pipes on the slopes were never sized for that much water, so a heavy downpour finds their limit fast.

Both issues show up on the same streets as the root problem, often in the same visit.

Blocked stormwater is the page to check if heavy rain is your trigger.

It's worst on the ridge toward Avondale Golf Club and the Dalrymple-Hay reserve, where the fall of the land funnels extra volume through pipes built for a lighter era.

What We're Clearing Around Here This Year

Root-cracked earthenware is still the number one call, but strata living near the station changes the job completely.

Strata buildings close to Grandview Street run shared stacks, so one blocked line can back up more than one unit at once.

We treat those the same way: camera first, quote agreed, then the work, whether it's a single villa or a body corporate job.

Emergency

An Emergency? We Move

Nothing about a blocked drain waits for a convenient hour, so neither do we.

Ring straight away when you've got:

  • The gully out in the yard is backing up
  • Several drains sounding off within the same visit
  • A toilet bowl won't stop climbing
  • Water's pooling by the stormwater pit after rain

Autumn adds its own pressure, with leaf and root growth from the heavy tree cover pushing harder on older lines just as wet weather sets in.

Real humans answer the phone, day or night.

Why Neighbours in Pymble Pick Us

Turramurra is where we're regularly on the tools, and this suburb sits a few streets over on the same run.

A plumber unfamiliar with these streets can waste half a visit just finding the right access point; we already know where to look.

Ku-ring-gai Council jobs bring us this way most weeks anyway, van stocked for a Federation-era pipe before the call even comes in.

Long-held family homes near the station tend to see the same pattern: an ageing pipe, a wet patch of weather, and a job that deserves a proper fix, not a patch.

Locals have left their share of our 1000+ five-star reviews, part of the wider tally that has us trusted by 15,000 Sydney families.

How We Work, From Call to Clear Drain

1. The initial call. A licensed plumber hears the problem directly, no script, no call centre.

2. Getting there. The van's already stocked for the job before it's even parked.

3. Reading the pipe. Camera footage shows exactly what's blocking the line, and we choose jetter or eel based on what it reveals.

4. Finishing it properly. Footage confirms the fix before we pack up and leave.

Common questions

Common Pymble FAQs

Do you clear single blocked sinks and toilets, or just big jobs?

Both get the identical standard. A blocked sink at a Grandview Street terrace is quoted no differently to a whole-house sewer job on Telegraph Road.

What's your labour warranty here?

Every clear carries a lifetime labour warranty. If it's not right, we come back. No questions. No cost.

Is there a call-out premium for Pymble specifically?

No. It sits under the same $0 call-out fee as everywhere else we cover.

Will you show me the drain is clear on camera?

Every time. The footage plays back on screen once the line's clear, so it's not just us saying so.

Why do Pymble's older drains keep blocking?

Most of it comes down to age and root pressure. Federation homes here were laid with earthenware pipes that crack under a century of Blue Gum root growth, and the rain adds to it from there.

Can you fix a collapsed pipe without digging?

Often, yes. No-dig pipe relining sleeves a collapsed or cracked section from the inside. A heritage garden on Avon Road stays intact.
